We have a passion for growing young people. We inspire active global citizens to lead in the spirit of the United Nations.
UN Youth is a youth-for-youth non-profit organisation that provides civics education outside the traditional classroom context. Through fun workshops, Model UN, Model Parliament, discussion groups and the Aotearoa Youth Declaration, we engage young people in the most pressing affairs of their country and the international community.
Our aim is to connect young people with others who care, and help them develop confidence in their own beliefs and abilities. UN Youth is a springboard to help youth go out into the world feeling empowered to make good change.
Empowerment We give everyone the chance to pursue their passion, and equip them with the skills to change the world.
Whanaungatanga We foster a sense of community where people feel like they belong regardless of their level of involvement.
Equity Equity is about ensuring rangatahi from all backgrounds find our opportunities fair, accessible and approachable.
Kotahitanga Unity, togetherness, solidarity, collective action. Like the United Nations, we know that we are stronger together.
