Established in 2004, Epic is the leading youth organization in Central Hawkes Bay providing a range of programs and initiatives specifically developed to help youth maximize their latent potential. Across In-school, After-school and Camps, we provide a range of fun and engaging opportunities for young people to access professional Youth Work Practitioners and a Registered Social Worker for group and individual mentoring support - key areas Relationship/Challenge/Equip.
Epic builds fences on the top of cliffs to help young people build resilience and stay safe. Developing Youth Workers, Interns and Gateway students, and enabling teams of volunteers who contribute to the programs, many of them have come through and experienced transformational impact in one or more of the Epic groups themselves.
Epic stands proudly on values of Respect-Manaaki, Encouragement-Tautoko, Participation-Kotahitanga, Growth-Whakatipu, and Love-Aroha, and youth who engage with Epic express a strong sense of "Belonging" and "Whanau". We also provide resources and youth worker/volunteer support to community events which involve young people. We collaborate with local Schools, Police Youth Aid, CHB District Council, Oranga Tamariki and Ministry of Youth Development in order to create the best outcomes for the young people in our community. You can read more about their experiences with Epic here.
Epic particularly relies on grants and donations to help fund the organization, investing a big portion into Youth Worker wages, ensuring that young people have access to trained mentors. We appreciate your consideration.
