The Northland Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society is a non-profit organisation whose purpose and objective is to provide on-going support, information, education, and advocacy for all people with MS and their support networks in our region. There is no charge for the services the Society offers and these are delivered by two part time employees, one being a registered Nurse.
Our vision and goals are for the optimal well-being of all those living with MS in Northland.
MS is an auto-immune disease of the central nervous system for which there is currently no known cause and no known cure. Levels of disability vary with each patient and we have to meet each of their needs accordingly.
The main object of the Society is to enhance the lives of all people with MS. It also aims to educate the general public, employers and health professionals about MS and to actively encourage on-going medical research into finding a cause or a cure.
