The Neurological Foundation of New Zealand is the country's only dedicated funder of neurological research. As detailed in the Global Burden of Disease 2018 study, 1 in 3 people is now affected by a neurological condition - making what we do important to many Kiwis. We fund approximately $5 million worth of neurological research each year to further our understanding of the 700+ neurological conditions that exist. Our researchers work to develop prevention and treatment methods and contribute to the progress for cures.
Education and awareness are at the heart of our kaupapa, with events and educational materials constantly being developed and delivered to as many communities as possible. Our ultimate goal is to improve the future quality of life for all Kiwis affected by neurological conditions – and we are so grateful to those who can join us on this mission.
