Our vision is to share the Mauri and Mana of the Maunga. We are on a journey to become internationally recognised and nationally cherished over the next 5 years.
Built of mavericks, we have delivered what nobody else in the world has managed, an inland island of 3,363 hectares with a fully functioning eco-system that is protected by 47kms of predator proof fence.
We aren't just about protecting some of the countries most endangered plant and animal species. We have a purpose built education centre which sees 4500 students a year take up the opportunity to explore and learn from the work we do. We have a small tourism team that offer guided tours and are strengthening the visibility of the science and research we facilitate. We are also branching out to areas of the community that will benefit from the energy of the maunga to build workshops and wellbeing programmes. For each measure of conservation we achieve, we achieve an equal measure of social outcome.
