We are Zeal, and our mission is to positively impact every young New Zealander through creativity. We do this at our youth centres in Aotearoa through afterschool hangouts, events, creative programmes, workshops, online crisis intervention and more.
Youth Facilities
We run youth development facilities in Hamilton, Hawke's Bay, Kāpiti, Taranaki, Wellington and West Auckland. These facilities are homes and hubs of creativity and belonging for young people from all walks of life.
Youth Development Projects
We run youth services in Hawke's Bay and Kāpiti, a social enterprise cafe, social enterprise screen-printer, and in-school groups supporting youth mental health.
Online Engagement
We reach young people online and celebrate youth creativity through our social media pages and website.
To measure impact, we regularly survey the young people we journey with. Our bi-annual Belonging Survey gives a profile of the young people who come through Zeal - about who they are, their feelings, their lifestyle and aspirations, as well as insights into how they feel about the support we offer them.
Zeal was started by a group of misfits driven by care for isolated and vulnerable young people and this remains a core driver of our work today. We’re extremely proud of our heritage and we use this depth of connection to our past to both ground us and propel us forward into an extremely exciting future
