Our Vision
Youth Encounter exists because we believe every person can encounter their God-given potential to live life wide open when they know they belong and believe in their true value. The Youth Encounter team works to create fun environments of community where young people feel safe, heard, valued and have a sense of belonging.
How We Create Change
Youth Encounter offers fun and exciting programs that enable young people and their families to get on track and stay on track towards encountering their full potential. Our programs include:
- Encounter Camps - A camp experience to discover more about life and connect with others
- Encounter Therapy - Empowering marginalised rangatahi through dirt bike riding and surf therapy
- Encounter Connect - A supportive and inclusive community for people to belong to with regular gatherings including activity, kai and korero
- Encounter Mentoring – An activity-based program connecting youth with positive role models to support and journey through life experiences for up to a 12-month period
- Encounter Mahi - Preparing youth for employment and transitioning them into a suitable workplace
- Encounter Leadership – Identifying, training and empowering young leaders
