Since 1958, we've made it our mission to provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We are passionate about breaking down barriers as well as providing a real sense of community for our team.

Inclusion & Community

We currently employ over 55 people with disabilities, who we see as having a range of abilities. By providing an inclusive and enriching work environment, our team is encouraged to unlock their full potential. It's important to us that we are doing our bit to create positive social and environmental change. Our culture of creativity, inclusion and dedication to detail is unparalleled. We use commercial excellence as a tool to demonstrate the value of people with intellectual disabilities to our customers, the community and anyone else who comes into contact with Kilmarnock. 

Unlocking Potential Through Education

For young New Zealanders with a disability, there are limited options when it comes time to leave high school. Many watch their peers go on to pursue further education, apprenticeships or straight into employment. Without a variety of opportunities and the freedom to make their own choices, they can feel like they have very little control over their lives. This is why we established our own training academy in 2017. We believe that with the right training, support, and encouragement, we can all achieve incredible things. Everybody learns differently and everybody deserves the opportunity to thrive. The Kilmarnock Academy takes our learners and graduates needs into consideration. We adapt our teaching to the way they learn, at the speed that suits them. We also believe in a world where diversity is embraced and we can all, unashamedly, seek the support we need to flourish. We have partnered with Hagley Adult Literacy Centre to provide NZQA training and qualifications that are relevant to the work environment and give our team the skills they need to progress their employment ambitions.

Our Commercial Offering

Kilmarnock is the world’s only ISO certified partner with heart. Although we operate like a business, we reinvest our income right back into our social mission.  We provide numerous services, including but not limited to shrink wrapping, collating and packing, assembly, labelling, food packing, refurbishing, electronic waste recycling and more. Our diverse and flexible workforce can be all hands on deck to get the job done quickly, efficiently and smoothly. As a result of these business opportunities, our team gains experience in a large variety of work.  We help our partners, and their people to unlock their own potential, through collaboration to solve the problems that keep them up at night.
