Our Vision is to help create a better New Zealand for all Kiwi Kids.
KidsCan exists to meet the physical and nutritional needs of Kiwi kids less fortunate than others. It’s our mission to provide the essentials to Kiwi kids affected by poverty so they can participate in learning and have an opportunity for a better future.
254,000 Kiwi kids live in poverty.
Education is a child’s ticket out of poverty. It is how we will break the cycle of hardship, and it is at the core of everything KidsCan does.
Food, a warm jacket, solid shoes, feminine hygiene products - these are things we want every child to take for granted. We are levelling the playing field, giving children whose families are struggling the same opportunity to learn as anyone else.
We partner with 787 low decile schools and 55 early childhood centres all over New Zealand to provide kids with the basics, but we can only do this with your help.
Food for Kids
Many children living in hardship experience hunger on a daily basis, never knowing if they will receive three meals a day. We are feeding over 30,000 hungry children every week at school.
Shoes for Kids
Getting kids to and through the school and early childhood education centre gates safely. We have provided over 341,000 pairs of socks and 170,000 pairs of shoes since 2005.
Raincoats for Kids
We are keeping New Zealand children warm and dry, and so far have provided 345,000 raincoats to kids since 2005.
Health for Kids
Good health increases attendance, engagement and participation at school and early childhood education centers.
