Head and neck cancer can be a life-changing diagnosis, bringing physical, emotional, and social challenges. Many patients feel isolated, struggling to find the information and support they need. Early detection can improve survival rates, yet awareness remains low. By raising awareness, fostering connections, and providing practical resources, we help people navigate their journey with dignity and hope.
- Building Community – We offer a safe, welcoming online space where patients, survivors, and caregivers can connect, share experiences, and support each other.
- Raising Awareness – Through campaigns, advocacy, and education, we inform the public, healthcare professionals, and policymakers about head and neck cancer.
- Providing Support – From peer support groups to welcome packs for new members, we ensure that no one faces this journey alone.
- Advocating for Better Care – We work with health organizations, including Te Ahu O Te Kahu (the Cancer Control Agency), to improve patient care and outcomes.
The Head and Neck Cancer Support Network Trust was founded by a group of patients and advocates who saw a gap in support and information for those living with head and neck cancer in New Zealand. What started as a small online group has grown into a strong, connected community that reaches people across the country.
Today, we continue to grow, guided by the voices of our members. Whether it's through our online forums, educational resources, or community meetings, we are here to make sure no one walks this path alone.
