Our charity helps Auckland’s community cats (stray, dumped, abandoned, homeless) by supporting those who care for them. We believe that the 'community cat problem' is resolvable - humanely, effectively and permanently - by de-sexing community cats. So our primary focus is de-sexing and trap-neuter-return.
What we do has huge value in terms of animal welfare, and it also aligns with biodiversity goals for the management of introduced predators, and with Council aspirations to make our communities more attractive places to live, work and play.
We help thousands of people each year who have observed or inherited 'cat issues' and have no idea how to humanely resolve them - there is no 'official' help available. We also aim to educate the public about the importance of de-sexing both companion and community cats (and empower them to do this), and to influence the thinking of influential entities to support our work so that it can be up-scaled to achieve the goal of near-zero community/stray cats as soon as possible (top-of-cliff work).
